Renowned engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov, commonly referred to as the &ldquo;father of the Corvette,&rdquo; crafted a number of mid-engine prototypes in the &lsquo;60s and &lsquo;70s, and every handful of years since there&rsquo;s been published claims of a mid-engine Corvette&rsquo;s arrival. So far, all empty promises.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/autonews-mag.com\/autocopy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2017-Corvette-Zora.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"jcepopup\" data-mediabox-group=\"a\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autonews-mag.com\/autocopy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2017-Corvette-Zora.jpg\" alt=\"2017-Corvette-Zora\" width=\"724\" height=\"407\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The latest claims, however, go into remarkable detail about one such clandestine <strong>Corvette,<\/strong> and if true, they say it&rsquo;s bound to arrive and replace the current-generation car in <strong>2018<\/strong>.
